Bass fishing in the winter and spring in South Florida is usually slow because of hot water and high levels. Over the last few weeks it’s been totally the opposite. Me and my guide Capt. Victor Cole have been out in the Everglades quite a few times over the last month and continue to catch impressive numbers of largemouth bass. Size has been small mostly but on each trip we’ve managed a few fish to at least 4 to 5 lbs. As 2009 approaches I’m assuming the bass fishing is only going to improve dramatically. We normally have to wait until March before the fishing is improves.
