Luis Rojas and I were out fishing for largemouth on alligator alley and did quite well for a half-day fishing while dodging heavy rains and lightning. We managed about 22 lbs. with 5 fish with the largest weighing in at 6.5 lbs. We probably only caught 14 fish or so but most were solid 2 to 3 lb. fish and bigger. All the fish came on surface and subsurface plastic baits which are homemade by me.
Jonathan Johnson and his buddy Mike Taylor from Ohio were down for Peacock Bass fishing in South Florida. The guys boated 54 Peacocks over 3 days of fishing. That’s a little slow for this time of year because of all the thunderstorms we’ve been having. The fishing will stay good if the rain will hold off for awhile.
